Mr. and Mrs. William B. Sturgis of Paducah celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a champagne brunch hosted by their children at their home on July 17.

Mr. Sturgis and the former Nancy Jean Sanders were married July 15, 1961, by the Rev. Charles DeNardi at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Paducah. Their attendants were Mary Catherine Theobald and Gary E. Cooper.

Mrs. Sturgis is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe N. Sanders Sr.

Mr. Sturgis is a retired traffic manager for the Crounse Corp. He is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B.D. Sturgis.

They are the parents of Jennifer L. Sturgis of Oakton, Va., Linda Sturgis LeNeave of Crestview Hills, Brad Sturgis and Chris Sturgis, both of Huntsville, Ala., and Matt Sturgis of Louisville. They have eight grandchildren.
