Crystal Nance of Paducah announces the engagement of her daughter, Erin Kateri Nance, to Robert David Newman, son of David Newman and stepson of Cindy Newman of Paris, Tenn., and son of the late Carol Sue Tibbs Newman.

Miss Nance is also the daughter of the late David Nance. She is the granddaughter of Freida Christian of Metropolis, Ill., Rosemary Nance of Covington, La., the late Guss Stern and the late Joseph Nance. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree from Southern Illinois University. She is employed as a speech-language pathologist for the Paducah Public Schools.

Mr. Newman is the grandson of the late Robert and Jenola Tibbs, and the late Nancy and Paul Newman. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University and is employed by the Board of Utilities in Paris as the engineering aide and purchasing agent.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 1 p.m. July 9 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah. All friends and relatives are invited.
