HICKMAN — Mattie Mae Cheirs, 91, of Hickman died Monday at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tenn.

She was a member of Johnson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by five sons, Joe Cheirs, Ricky Cheirs and Lawrence Cheirs, all of Hickman, Charles Cheirs of Fulton and William Cheirs of Kansas City, Kan.; four daughters, Lillie Mae Cheirs and Christine Whitlow, both of Hickman, Brenda Cheirs of Fulton and Fran McNeill of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Edna Stalls of Centralia, Ill.; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odie Cheirs; six sons, Robert Cheirs, Johnnie Hicks, Lewis Cheirs, Willie Cheirs,  Donnie Cheirs and Ronnie Cheirs; and one daughter, Margaret Cheirs. Her parents were Daniel James and Maggie Hicks.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Chapel Missionary Church with the Rev. Steve Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
