Alicia Ann Mathis and Carter Daniel Cochran will be united in marriage Saturday in Murray.

Miss Mathis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Mathis of Benton.

Mr. Cochran is the son of Drew Cochran and Mrs. Pam Thomas, both of Houston, Texas.

Miss Mathis is the granddaughter of Ms. Shirley Bohannon of Benton and the late George Bohannon, Ms. Linda Mathis of Symsonia, and Other Mathis Jr. of Benton. She is a 2002 graduate of Marshall County High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and public relations in 2006 and a master’s degree in occupational safety and health in 2008 from Murray State University. She is an alumna of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and is employed by Chevron U.S.A., as a health, environment and safety specialist in Covington, La.

Mr. Cochran is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. LaCarter of Houston, Texas, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Emory Cochran. He is a 2003 graduate of Westside High School in Houston and earned a bachelor’s degree in professional writing in 2007 from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He is employed as an insurance agent by Aflac in Madisonville, La.
