Margaret and Marvin Leadicker

GODFREY, Ill. — Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Leadicker of Godfrey, formerly of Paducah, Ky., recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at The Moonlight Restaurant in Fosterburg, Ill.

Mr. Leadicker and the former Margaret Henson were married Dec. 21, 1940, by a justice of the peace in St. Charles, Mo.

Mrs. Leadicker was employed in New York City as a French Hospital elevator operator during World War II. When Mr. Leadicker returned from the war she became a full-time wife and mother. She is the daughter of the late Fred and Anna May (Bevil) Henson of Paducah, Ky.

Mr. Leadicker retired from Laclede Steel Co. in Alton, Ill., in 1984. He served in the U.S. Navy as a gunner’s mate first class during World War II. He is the son of the late Virgil and Lou (O’Bryan) Leadicker of Paducah, Ky.

They have three children: Gaye Ann Bloyd of East Prairie, Mo., Karen Monroe of Grafton, Ill., and Rene Farley of Godfrey, Ill.; four grandchildren, William Hatcher of Villa Grove, Colo., Toi Hatcher-Saale of Waterloo, Ill., Angela Burns of San Diego, Calif., and Sonya Unverzagt of Brighton, Ill.; and six great-grandchildren, Phillip Saale and Melissa Saale, both of Waterloo, Ill., Sabrina Burns and Mya Burns, both of San Diego, Levi Unverzagt of Brighton, Ill., and Zoey Unverzagt, who resides with Jesus in Heaven.
