GOLCONDA, Ill. — Lucille Wayland, 91, of Golconda died Thursday at home.

She worked at Pope County Care Center in Golconda. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by four daughters, Betty Lemon, Joyce Wallace, Margaret Schnake and Jeanette Wayland, all of Golconda; one son, Kenneth Wayland of Columbus, Ga.; one sister, Eulene “Babe” Belt of Marion; her stepmother, Nancy Hall of Marion; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Willie” Wayland; four children, William A. Wayland, Billie Carol Wayland, James Rudell Wayland and Alice Wayland Zbonski; a great-granddaughter; four brothers; and three sisters. Her parents were James Monroe and Sarah Francis Steward Jackson

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Aly Funeral Home in Golconda. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Golconda. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
