GOREVILLE, Ill. — Kenneth Phelps, 58, of Goreville passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
As per his family’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at Cana Cemetery in Goreville at a later date. The Reverend R.G. Null will officiate.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville.
Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association or to Mid-America Transplant Services. Envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Kenneth was born on November 26, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to Sam and Lola (Barrett) Phelps. He married his wife, Renee, on August 9, 1975, in Paducah, Kentucky. She survives of Goreville.
He is survived by his wife, Renee of Goreville; children, Traci and Chris McDaniel of Goreville, Kevin Phelps of Goreville, Andrew Phelps and Kelli Hancock of Marion; grandchild, Hayley Whitehead; three brothers, Neil and Fran Phelps of Kentucky, David and Carol Phelps of Kentucky, and James Robert Phelps of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
