Mr. and Mrs. John G. Barker of Paducah will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. The couple requests no gifts.

Mr. Barker and the former Martha Jean Smith were married Oct. 19, 1946, by the Rev. Joyce Moore in the Lebanon United Methodist Church parsonage. Their attendants were Fred and Jeanette Lindsey.

Mrs. Barker retired from Stein Brothers and Boyce Investment Firm. She is the daughter of the late Q.L. Smith and Nonnie Smith.

Mr. Barker is a licensed funeral director and embalmer employed by Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. He is the former owner and operator of Roth Funeral Chapel and served as McCracken County coroner for several years.
