John Wesley Crutcher Jr., 79, of Paducah, died at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Western Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Crutcher was a retired boilermaker of ICGRR and was formerly employed at Paducah Marine Ways and Walker Boat Yard of Paducah. He was a union member of International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by one son, Tyrone Crutcher and wife Jennifer of Paducah; one daughter, Shelia Kaye Crutcher Klein and husband Michael of Paducah; five grandchildren, Brady Crutcher, Dylan Crutcher, Corey Crutcher, Steve L. Mills II, and Michael Shane Mills; one aunt, Lee Green of Paducah; two stepbrothers, Donnie Patterson of Paducah and William (Tippie) Patterson of Melber; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one stepbrother, Eugene Gossett; one stepsister, Dorothy Lucille Patterson; his stepmother, Lydia Crutcher; and his parents, John Wesley Crutcher Sr. and Leddie B. Banister Gossett.

The family wishes to express their special thanks to the staff of Wing 3 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation for their loving care and kindness.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Dennis Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Rosebower Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brady Crutcher, Dylan Crutcher, Steve Mills, Shane Mills, Michael Mills and Michael Klein.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
