BENTON — John Robertson Edwards, 69, of Benton died Saturday at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville.

He was a retired salesman, Cub Scout master and member of New Zion Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Livinia Pauline Robertson Edwards; one daughter, Johnna Smith of Dexter; one son, Craig Edwards of Benton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Edwards.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home in Benton with Rev. Rodney Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Benton. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
