GOLCONDA, Ill. — Joel Broadway, 79, of Golconda died Saturday at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis.

He was a retired quality control manager at Caterpillar. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Golconda and Lions Club in Watertown, Tenn.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Broadway; one son, Tim Broadway of Montgomery, Ill.; one daughter, Melonie Broadway of Cumming, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Harry and Alberta Broadway.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Billy E. Green officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Golconda.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
