SEDALIA — Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy “Shorty” Williams of Sedalia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 23. The couple request no gifts, but cards would be appreciated.

Mr. Williams and the former Brenda Joyce “B.J.” Janes were married Feb. 23, 1963, by the Rev. Bob Jones at a Baptist church in Mayfield. Their attendants were Glen Reed and Barbara Baker.

Mrs. Williams is a retired secretary and firefighter with the Sedalia Fire Department. She is the daughter of the late Maggie and Jessie Janes.

Mr. Williams retired from General Tire with 42 years of service. He is the son of the late Twymon and Vera Williams.
