Jillian Lee Meeks and James Stephen Nyquist were united in marriage March 31 at First Presbyterian Church in Paducah with the Rev. Lynn Shurley Jr. officiating. Music was provided by Vic Mazzone of Los Angeles, Calif., vocalist; Amanda Maddox of Los Angeles, vocalist; Elaine Shurley of Paducah, organist; and the Watkins Family String Quartet of Paducah.
The bride is the daughter of Rick and Beverly Meeks of Paducah. She is the granddaughter of Mary Lee of Paducah and the late Hershell Lee, and the late James and Dorothy Meeks.
The groom is the son of Steve and Kristi Nyquist of Cullman, Ala. He is the grandson of James R. and Shelby Knight of Cullman, Ala., and Dr. John and Peggy Nyquist of Cullman, Ala.
The bride chose her sister, Dr. Natalie Ballert of Paducah, as her matron of honor and Ms. Betsy Cooper of Nashville, Tenn., as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ceci Bassindale of Grand Rapids, Mich., Ms. Amory Cox of Nashville, Tenn., Mrs. Jessica Warren of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Margaret Bailey of Louisville, Ms. Claire Kaltenbach of St. Louis, Mrs. Elizabeth Mohr of Calvert City, Ms. Emilee Young of Lexington, and Ms. Katherine Nyquist of Lexington, sister of the groom. Serving as flower girl was Miss Audrey Meals, daughter of Mike and Dr. Lee Meals of Paducah. Ringbearer was Anderson Ballert, son of Drs. John and Natalie Ballert of Paducah.
The groom chose his father as his best man. Groomsmen were John Nyquist and Cooper Nyquist, both of Cullman and brothers of the groom; Taylor Eidson of Huntsville, Ala.; David Haynes and Tyler Powell, both of Birmingham, Ala.; Joseph Fisher of Cullman; Blair Malench of St. Louis; Danny Charles of Nashville, Tenn.; and Dr. Landen Meeks of Dallas, Texas, brother of the bride.
A reception followed at the Luther F. Carson Four Rivers Center. Mary Haugh of Paducah and Carson Smith of Lexington attended the guest register.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, a 2009 graduate of the University of Kentucky and is attending the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Cullman High School in Cullman, a 2009 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Engineering and is attending the University of Kentucky College of Business Administration. He is employed by Gray Construction of Lexington.
The couple reside in Lexington.
