Mr. and Mrs. Michael Brooks of Paducah recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner and a trip to Florida.

Mr. Brooks and the former Janet Elaine Brown were married Sept. 9, 1961, by the Rev. Huey Burgess at Dublin Baptist Church. Their attendants were Walton Webb Brooks and Joan Tucker Dodson.

Mrs. Brooks is a retired teacher for Massac County (Ill.) Unit District No. 1. She is the daughter of the late Darrell and Imogene Brown.

Mr. Brooks is a retired teacher for the Joppa-Maple Grove (Ill.) School District. He is the son of the late Mack and Lucille Brooks.

They are the parents of Jana Leeper and Leigh Ann Castleman, both of Heath. They have five grandchildren.
