VIENNA, Ill. — James M. “Stud” Walker, 89, of Vienna, died 3:15 a.m. Sunday at his home.

He was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of Vienna First United Methodist Church, former Johnson County Clerk and Recorder, and was the longtime owner of Vienna Dairy Queen.

He is survived by his son, Gregory Walker of Woodstock, Ill.; his daughter, Jill Meyer of St. Louis; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Margaret Price of Metropolis, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Walker; and two brothers; his parents were James & Minnie Walker.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Vienna First United Methodist Church. Burial with military flag presentation accorded by the Illinois National Guard Burial Honors Detail will be in Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
