GILBERTSVILLE — James Lyell Schucker, 87, of Gilbertsville, passed away at 6:20 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.
Mr. Schucker was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, was an Army veteran of World War II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, a 1949 graduate of the University of Illinois School of Industrial Design, he worked as a designer for Learjet, Whirlpool, Ariens Company, Kropp Motor Homes, and was the retired owner and operator of Schucker Yachts.
He is survived by his wife, Marilynn Magel Schucker of Gilbertsville; three daughters, Sandra Demorest of Mason, Mich., Anne (Michael) Jahn of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Dawn Spearin of Shawnee, Okla.; one son, James S. (Susan) Schucker of Hawaii; one sister, Barbara Marquardt of Ft. Collins, Colo.; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar O. and Leah Lescher Schucker; his first wife, Elizabeth Fye Schucker; one brother; and one grandson.
Memorial services will be at a later date. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
