BENTON — Mr. James Robert Thompson, 82, of Benton, Kentucky, died on Monday, January 14, 2013, at Superior Care Home in Paducah, Kentucky.

Born Friday, February 21, 1930, in Graves Co., Kentucky, he was the son of the late Crete Thompson and the late Halline (Park) Thompson. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Marie (Lemke) Thompson.

He was retired from the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was also a retired supervisor for Cadillac Corporation.

Surviving are daughters, Michele Howard and husband John of Paducah, Ky., and Pamela Grifka and husband Dan of Sterling Heights, Mich.; three grandchildren, Christopher Grifka, Jason Grifka, and Erica Howard; and two great-grandchildren, Jude Grifka and Alice Grifka.

A Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, Kentucky 42025, with the Father Anthoni Ottagan officiating.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the Collier Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at a later date in the St. Henry’s Cemetery, Aurora, Ky.
