MURRAY — James “Jim” Jones, 96, of Murray died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his home.
He was a member of VFW and American Legion, a U.S. Army World War II veteran, and retired co-owner of Twin Lakes Shoreline Improvement Co. He was a member of First Christian Church in Aurora.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Pierson Jones; two stepdaughters, Vonnie Crowder of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Jan Erkman of Murray; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother. His parents were Charles and Bertha Stanley Jones.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with the Rev. Ivan Judge officiating. Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
