MAYFIELD — James Albert Galloway, 89, of Mayfield passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

He was a Kentucky Colonel, a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Martin Marietta, where he was employed as a welder.

Mr. Galloway is survived by his wife, Laverne Moore Galloway; two daughters, Dianna Galloway of Greensboro, N.C., and Sheila G. (Bobby) Perry of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; and two grandsons, Albert Perry of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Phillip Tomlin of Nashville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lexie and Opal Melvin Galloway; and his sister, Juanita Richardson.

Graveside services for James Albert Galloway will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in Highland Park Cemetery, with Mike Tucker officiating.

Friends may call on the family Tuesday, October 30, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield.
