METROPOLIS, Ill. — Mr. James “Reece” Martin, 88, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 7:42 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.

Reece is survived by his wife, Sharon Martin of Metropolis; two sons, Jimmy Martin and wife Candice of Metropolis and Timmy Martin of Joppa; two daughters, Paula Greer and husband Doc of Metropolis and Brenda Fulkerson and husband Kevin of Marysville, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five nieces; and several cousins.

Reece was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Edgar and Bessie Martin; two sisters, Lorene Dodson and Betty Stephens; and one stepdaughter, Debbie Massey.

Reece was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during World War II, and a member of American Legion Post #306.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Bro. Justin Reynolds will officiate. Burial will follow with military rites in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
