KUTTAWA — Mr. Harlan Banister, 68, of Kuttawa, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at his residence in Kuttawa.
Mr. Banister was retired as an electrician for SKW Alloys in Calvert City with 25 years of service. He was owner and broker of Century 21 Land of Lakes Realty in Eddyville. He was a member of Lamasco Baptist Church in Lyon County and also attended Eddyville First Baptist Church in Eddyville. He was a member of Parkersville Masonic Lodge No. 484 in Lamasco and he served our country as an Army Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Dr. Chezley Banister-Neth and her husband, Randall, of Orange Beach, Ala., and Schanda Banister-Doughty and her husband, Andrew, of Adams, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Nathaniel “Gage” Polchlopek, Connor Andrew Doughty and Cainan Banister Doughty; two sisters, Phyllis Sue Garland of Lamasco and Gloria Marcella Damron of Pleasant View, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Colley, an infant sister, Rosella Banister; and an infant brother, Marlan Banister. His parents were Roy Bruce Banister and Bessie Audell Oliver Banister.
Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013, at Lamasco Baptist Church in Lyon County with Rev. Dean Ray and Rev. Tim Perdue officiating. Burial will be in Lamasco Cemetery with graveside military rites.
Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013, at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with Masonic Services at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Lamasco Baptist Church.
