GILBERTSVILLE — Gordon D. Hargrove, 79, of Gilbertsville, Ky., passed away at 3:54 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at Western Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Hargrove was the 2nd District Magistrate from 1978-1991 and the 2nd District Commissioner from 1991-2007. He owned and operated Hargrove’s Service Station for 35 years and was a member of Briensburg Masonic Lodge and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Juanita Augusta Barnhill Hargrove of Gilbertsville, Ky.; one son, Dale Hargrove and his wife, Denise, of Benton, Ky.; one daughter, Meagan Hargrove Hawkins and her fiancé, Monty Feezor, of Benton, Ky.; three grandchildren, Britney Hargrove, Caleb Hargrove and Stephen Hawkins, all of Benton, Ky.; and one great-grandson, Kasen Lewzader, of Benton, Ky.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Hargrove. His parents were Gaylen Hargrove and Mable Bean Hargrove.
Memorial services will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory. H.W. Ford and Gary Knuckles will officiate. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home & Crematory.
