LEXINGTON — Ginny Schwering, 62, born Virginia Gail Edwards, died peacefully at home in the arms of her loving husband on Friday, April 5, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Miami, Fla., she is the daughter of the late Leo Edwards and the late Ruth King Edwards, and a 1969 graduate of Chamberlain High School and Florida Business College in Tampa, Fla.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Larry Schwering; their two daughters, Patience and Iris; and two sisters, Gay Becker and Joy Brown.
She was employed for the last 20 years as director of after school programs for Providence Montessori School in Lexington, Ky. Ginny was a talented cook, avid gardener and a kind, loving, gentle soul with an appreciation for all things natural, an ordinary person who led an extraordinary life.
A visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home – Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, Ky.
No services are planned.
