MAYFIELD — George W. Harper, 91, of Mayfield died at 9:27 p.m. Friday at his home.
He was a member of Northside Church of Christ, was a retired farmer, and a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Youngblood of Boaz and Linda G. Harper of Oliver Springs, Tenn.; one brother, Herman Harper of Paducah; four sisters, Unadean Orndoff of Wood River, Ill., Eva Bean of White Plains, Ga., Mary Buchanan of Paducah, and Joyce Scobel of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June Harper; one son, Brian William Harper Sr.; three brothers; and one half brother. His parents were George and Addie Harper.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Carl Scoggins officiating. Graveside burial with military rites will be at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
