Gene Paul Hipp, entered into eternal peace on April 30, 2013, at his home in Florida. A dedicated, loving father to Paul Andrew Hipp, he will be remembered in our hearts forever.
Gene Paul was born on February 9, 1963, son of Gene Hipp and the late Edna Cooper Hipp of Paducah. He graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1981. He earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Kentucky in 1985 and MBA from The Kellogg School of Management in 1996. He enjoyed a long and successful career with Procter & Gamble, Deloitte Consulting, and Ernst & Young. He loved to walk barefoot on the beach, fish, ski, swim, travel, read, watch college football with his son Paul, bike, laugh, and embraced any new challenge. He never gave up ... no matter what.
Gene is survived by his father, Gene Hipp; his brother, Cooper Hipp of Minneapolis; his son, Paul Andrew Hipp and Julie Hipp, his wife and partner of 22 years. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Paul Hipp; grandmother, Nanny Cooper; and the two women in his life that he admired the most and adored, Edna Hipp and Juel Hipp.
A celebration of Gene’s Life will be held Friday, May 10, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with the Revs. Elizabeth Wade and Richard Paxton officiating. Friends and relatives are invited and may call at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah Thursday, May 9, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Private burial will be held at Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
