Frances Cooper, 89, of Houston, Tx., formerly of Lone Oak, died Thursday at her residence.

She was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ for over 50 years and more recently attended Jersey Village Church of Christ in Houston. She was a retired church secretary and a homemaker. She was a native of Walnut Grove, Miss.

Survivors include one son, James D. Cooper of Houston, Tx.; two daughters, Patricia Sutton of Houston, Tx., and Stephenia Bowman of Frankfort; three sisters, Ruby Weems of Richmond, Miss., Sadie Brunson and Delia Smith, both of Pearl, Miss.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roofes D. Cooper; her parents, W.D. Lang and Mattie Crocker Lang; one grandson; one granddaughter; three sisters; and one brother.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Jamie Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday until service time at the funeral home.
