HARDIN — Elva “Nell” (Thorn) Collins, 80, of Hardin died Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

She is survived by three sons, Bob Slaughter, Jimmy Ray Sholar and Timmy Lynn Sholar, all of Hardin; one daughter, Mildred “Millie” Warner of Huffman, Texas; three brothers, Dub Thorn of Benton, Jerry Wayne Thorn of Aurora, and Bobby Lee Thorn of Aurora; two sisters, Mary Keats of Dover, Tenn., and Janice McGregor of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Collins; one daughter, Carla Nell Henderson; one brother; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild. Her parents were Carl Thorn and Grace Mildred (Lee) Thorn.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Collier Funeral Chapel of Benton with the Rev. Joe Daryl Thorn officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery in Hardin. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the funeral home.
