Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Durbin of Paducah announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Catherine Emily Durbin, to Dr. Brian Michael Hicks, son of Mrs. Sherry A. Herald of Sheridan, Mich., and Michael E. Hicks of Jackson, Mich.
Dr. Durbin is the granddaughter of Richard A. Durbin of Paducah and the late Helen Durbin, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Cash. She is a 2002 graduate of State University of New York at Stone Brook with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She is employed by Michigan State University in East Lansing.
Dr. Hicks is the grandson of Harold Hicks of Jackson, Mich., and the late Elaine Hicks, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Walsh. He is a 2007 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a doctorate in clinical psychology. He is employed by the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
A May wedding is planned.
