Dorothy Sloan, 86, of Paducah died at 6:20 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Superior Nursing Home.
Dorothy was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ, a native of Benton, Ky., and a retired beautician.
She was proud and loved her grandchildren and the activities they were involved.
Survivors include one son, Russell (Judy) Sloan, Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Marie (George) Raymond, Marshall County; daughter-in-law, Shirley Sloan, Paducah, Ky.; five grandchildren, Joseph Wesley Sloan, Sally (David) Blair, Stephen Sloan, Ryan Sloan and Rachael Sloan; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Sloan, Jacey Blair and Sydney Blair.
Preceding in death were her husband, Joseph Sloan; one son, Joe Sloan; one grandson, Joe Linn Sloan; her parents, Alfred Birdsong and Gracie Butler Birdsong Odom; one sister, Louise Krencel, and one brother, Mason Birdsong.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Paul Wingfield officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Kenton Cemetery.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at the funeral home.
