METROPOLIS, Ill. — Ms. Diana (Brenningmeyer) Nelson, age 64, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. The Rev. Tom Emmerson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Diana retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue where she worked as an Auditor. She was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She was a die-hard Bill Anderson fan, Cardinals fan, and Titans fan.

Diana is survived by a son, Mark Nelson of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, Austin and Robert Nelson, both of Springfield, Ill.; and several cousins and friends.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Orval and Esther (Bremer) Brenningmeyer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
