Curtis E. “Red” Terry, age 85, of Cunningham, died at 10:32 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012, at his home.
The son of William Henry and Delma (Hammett) Terry, he was born April 19, 1927, in Cunningham.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served with the 6th USAAF 26th Air Force Fighter Command during WWII. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers.
He was retired from TVA’s Shawnee Steam Plant. He was a member of the Bardwell VFW #5409 and the Bardwell Masonic Lodge No. 499.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Terry of Cunningham; five children, Joe C. Terry of Clinton, KY, Ruth Dietsch of Cunningham, Kathy DeLong of Aiea, HI, Jill Brechbill of Terre Haute, IN, Penny Rathermel of Cunningham; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; and one sister, Rachel Adams of Cunningham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Delma (Hammett) Terry; five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2012, at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with the Revs. David Hardy and Larry Purcell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery with Military Rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at the funeral home with Masonic Rites being said at 4 p.m.
