Janice J. Cole of Shelbyville, Tenn., announces the engagement of her daughter, Janice Elizabeth Cole, to Christopher Ryan England, son of Drs. Gary and Roberta England of Paducah.

Miss Cole is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Cole of Shelbyville, Tenn., and the late Imogene and Dorman Jordan. She is a 2001 graduate of The Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tenn. She earned bachelor’s degrees from both Vanderbilt and Belmont universities in child development and nursing, respectively, and earned a master’s degree in nurse anesthesia from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia. She is an alumna of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She is employed as a nurse anesthetist at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, New York.

Mr. England is the grandson of Dr. Hans and Emma Conrad of Cary, N.C., and the late Dr. Lurad and Louise England. He is a 2001 graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2005 from Harvard University and a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics in London, England. He earned a juris doctorate degree in 2009 from Washington University in St. Louis and works in the New York office of Ropes & Gray LLP as a corporate associate specializing in private equity.

Wedding vows will be exchanged Sept. 29 at the Benton Chapel at Vanderbilt University.
