METROPOLIS, Ill. — Clarence Henderson, age 89, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Southgate Health Care Center in Metropolis.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Joetta Henderson of Metropolis; his daughter, Ruth Ann Smith and husband Ronald of Arab, Ala.; his sons, Ronald Eugene Henderson of Sequin, Wash., and Larry Allen Henderson of Matteson, Ill.; his brothers, Roy Henderson of Riverside, Calif., and Marion “Bulldog” Henderson of Metropolis, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Daisy (Pierce) Henderson; one infant daughter, Helen Faye; his first wife, Mamie Henderson; one grandson, Sean Henderson; and brothers Paul, Hammond and Elzie Henderson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Rev. David Keyes and Rev. Ben Hottel will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery.
