BARTLETT, Tenn. — Charles W. Grief, 90, of Bartlett, Tenn., formerly of Kevil, Ky., died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at the Methodist Hospice Residence.

He was a retired millwright carpenter and a World War II Air Force veteran.

Mr. Grief was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Anne Barry Grief, and is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marie C. Grief; daughters, Donna (George) Hillebrand, Dianna Drost and Patsy Goodson; grandchildren; Jennifer Barry Faulkner (Steve), Jarrett G. Hillebrand (Casey), Anglia Herring, Brian Rye, Joshua Swain and Cody Swain; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob and Jack Faulkner, and Zane and Quinn Hillebrand, Tanner Rye, Brittani Handley and Patrick Barber. He also leaves his brother, Bobby Grief.

Mr. Grief was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elvia Grief; brothers, James Grief and Roy Grief; and his sister, Ravenell Grief Diehl.

Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Forest Hill East Funeral Home in Memphis, Tenn.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Palestine Cemetery in West Paducah, Ky.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to the Harmony Baptist Church.
