TAMMS, Ill. — Services for Charles Henry Jordan, 76, of Tamms will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms with the Rev. Brent Gordan officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery with military rites conducted.
Mr. Jordan died at 8:27 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home.
He was a retired truck driver, an Army veteran, and had taught at Tamms Vocational School in Tamms. He was a member of the Goodwill Gospel Quartet.
Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by a great-grandchild. His parents were Omer Jordan and Avis Watkins Jordan.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Kay Winn Jordan; four daughters, Angelic Carpenter of Paducah, Gayla Goins of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Beverly Ford of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Natasha Shafer of Tamms; two brothers, Larry Jordan of Tamms and Gerald Jordan of Clay, N.Y.; three sisters, Opal Pullen of Marrero, La., Janet Anderson of Alto Pass and Nadine Sadler of Anna; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the funeral home.
