A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charles E. “Chuck” Masters Jr., age 69, of Lone Oak will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at the Massac United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John Smithmier and the Rev. Ron Spell officiating.

Chuck passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at 11:15 a.m. at Lourdes Hospital.

Born in Crowder, Missouri, Chuck was a member of the Massac United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He retired as sales manager for Prudential Insurance and Investment Company here in Paducah.

He was also an active member of the American Legion, where he was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America and the Boys Nation.

Chuck is survived by his mother, Helen Graham Masters of Sikeston, Mo.; and his special companion, Fay Carter of Lone Oak.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Stevens Masters, and his father, Charles Everett Masters Sr.

Friends are invited to gather with the family in the Massac United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the memorial service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Massac United Methodist Church, 2065 Mayfield-Metropolis Road, Paducah, KY 42001, or the Boy Scouts of America Foundation, 1325 W. Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, TX 75015-2079.

There will be no visitation. The Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
