HICKORY — Mr. and Mrs. Bud Parks of Hickory will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Melber Civic Center. All friends and relatives are invited.

Mr. Parks and the former Joan Latham were married May 11, 1962, in East St. Louis, Ill., by Charles H. Crider, justice of the peace. Their attendants were Pat and Willie Parks.

Mrs. Parks is the daughter of Fannie Latham of Melber and the late Ruble Latham.

Mr. Parks is a retired millwright. He is the son of the late Raymond and Mildred Parks.

They have three children: Deron Parks and Steve Parks, both of Melber, and Barbara Parks Humphrey of Hickory; and six grandchildren.
