FAIRDEALING — Mr. and Mrs. John D. Fleming of Fairdealing celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. The couple plan a trip to Baton Rouge, La., in the spring.

Mr. Fleming and the former Betty Nicholson were married Dec. 12, 1962, in Elizabethtown, Ill. Their attendants were Ronald and Carolyn Burdon.

Mrs. Fleming is the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Nicholson.

Mr. Fleming is a retired employee of Bellsouth with 30 years’ service, former president of the Communication Workers of America Local 3315, and owner of Flemco Electric. He is the son of the late Eugene and Frances Fleming.

They have three daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Johnson and Laurie Hilbrecht, both of Benton, and Mary Foley of Symsonia; and eight grandchildren.
