MAYFIELD — Betty Jean Copeland, 79, of Mayfield died at 12:52 a.m. Thursday at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.

She was a member of First Assembly of God and retired from Mayfield Boys Treatment Center.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Donald Copeland; two sons, Donald Taylor and James Alan Copeland, both of Mayfield; three daughters, Kathy Anne Copeland and Nikita Pagel, both of Mayfield, and Melanie Neel of Paducah; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Her parents were Thomas Raymond and Iva Stevens Swatzell.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. Brad Morris officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield.
