Jim and Linda Becker of Bartelso, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Lynn Becker, to Michael Tyler Monteiro, son of Luis Monteiro of Milburn and Melody Terry of Columbia, Ill.

Miss Becker is the granddaughter of Joan Schroeder of Germantown, Ill., and the late Henry Schroeder, and Blanche Becker of Bartelso and the late Robert Bartelso. She is a 2007 graduate of Breese Central sports_high_school in Breese, Ill., and earned a registered nurse degree in 2009 from Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill. She is employed by Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Mr. Monteiro is the grandson of Marion and Ursula Draper of Bardwell, and Francisco and Maria Dalva Monteiro of Sao Luis, Maranhao, Brazil. He is a 2008 graduate of Central sports_high_school in Breese and is attending Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville. He is member of the U.S. Army and Illinois National Guard and is employed by R&L Carriers in Sauget, Ill.

Wedding vows will be exchanged at 1 p.m. June 18 at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso. All friends and relatives are invited.
