METROPOLIS, Ill. — Barbara Evans Miller, 74, of Metropolis, lll., formerly of Harrisburg, Ill., passed away Thursday evening, August 16, 2012, with her family gathered around her.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis W. Brinker officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunset Lawn in Harrisburg, Ill.

Barbara was born in Harrisburg, Ill., on July 20, 1938. She graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1956 and married Joseph Miller in December of that year.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Miller; one son, Joseph Jr. and his wife Debbie of Metropolis; and one daughter, Lynda Miller of Memphis, Tenn.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruth Evans; and her brother, Tom Evans.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.
