DIXON, Ill. — Alan Eugene “Ish” Greer, 67, of Dixon, Ill., formerly of Joppa, Ill., passed away Monday, Dec. 10, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Elder Gordon Ashley and Elder Ivan Woods officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Metropolis.

Alan is survived by his daughter, Twyla Jean (Greer) Mcleod and husband Donald of Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Linda (Greer) Short and husband John of Karnak, Ill.; four brothers, Clifton Greer and wife Vicki of Metropolis, Ill., Danny Greer and wife Sue of Marion, Ill., Gerald Greer of Karnak, Ill., and Pat Greer of Belknap, Ill.; two granddaughters, Gabrielle and Isabella Mcleod; three special nieces, Kimberly Leonard, Sherry R. (Jordan) Greer, and Brucelyn Dianne Jordan; one special nephew, Danny Jordan; as well as great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean (Lewis) and Raymond Greer Jr.; two brothers, Gary Tucker and Richard Greer, and one sister, Debbi Crisler.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home.
