Rolland Deen Zipse

Staff report

Rolland Deen Zipse, 89, of Paducah, Kentucky, formerly of Benton, passed away at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Paducah.

Rolland was an automobile mechanic, and after owning his own auto repair business for many years, was the service manager at the Goodyear Auto Service Center until retirement. He was a member of the Rosebower Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Frieda Merrell Zipse of Paducah, Kentucky; his children, Pam Zipse Inglis of Tucson, Arizona, Ritchie Zipse of Tucson, Arizona, Angela Lovan of Madisonville, Kentucky, Mike Lovan of Nashville, Tennessee, Patti Strader of Calvert City, Kentucky, and Monica Gribbins of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Rolland was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Dalton Zipse; a grandson, Michael Zipse; and one brother, Bradford Zipse. His parents were Vernon Franklin Zipse and Mirian Anderson Zipse.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home in Benton. The Rev. Justin Mason will officiate and burial will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home.
