David Harold Wallace, 71, of Paducah died Monday, March 13, 2017, at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
David was born in Paducah, Kentucky on September 29, 1945, to James Kindred Wallace Sr. and Nola V. Willie Wallace.
He graduated from Symsonia High School in 1963 before being drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, David began a long and successful career as David Wallace Construction and built many homes in the Paducah area.
He was a longtime member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, serving several tenures as trustee. David's greatest passion and joy was to devote his time to attending and coaching sports, particularly those in which his children and grandchildren were involved.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Patsy Ann Lewis Wallace; daughters, LaVonna Willingham and husband Lee of Paducah and Charolette Wallace of Scottsdale, Arizona; stepchildren, Julie Perry and husband Kenny of Paducah and Jeff Garner and wife LeAnne of Paducah; grandchildren, Jessica (Josef) Rumsey, Rachel Willingham, Zach Perry, Emily Perry, Ryan Garner, Kyle Garner, Caleb Wallace and Sophie Wallace; daughter-in-law, Dee Ann Wallace of Benton, Kentucky; and siblings, Judy Dyer of Blairsville, Georgia, Nancy (Lynn) Jones of Calvert City, James K. (Marlene) Wallace Jr. of Lone Oak, Preston (Kathleen) Wallace of Atlanta, Georgia, Edwin (Colleen) Wallace of Reidland, John Wallace of Symsonia, Donald (Joyce) Wallace of Paducah, Larry (Linda) Wallace of Reidland, Danny Joe (Jeanette) Wallace of Symsonia and Clifton (Janet) Wallace of Symsonia; and sister-in-law, Willobee Wallace of Symsonia.
Preceding him in death were his son, David Michael "Mike" Wallace; sisters, Sue Suggs, Louise Sullivan and Mary Elizabeth Moyers; brother, Edward Wallace; and his parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Dr. Dan Summerlin and the Rev. Stan Reid officiating.
Memorial visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
