Gladys E. Benton Powell

Staff report

Gladys E. Benton Powell, 99, of Lewisville, Texas, formerly of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 9:55 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, at Prestonwood Rehabilitation Center in Plano, Texas.

She was born in Columbus, Kentucky. Gladys was a seamstress and had worked for several different companies including Catalina Swimwear. She was a member of Northview Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Terri Gingrich and husband Dennis of Lewisville, Texas; two grandchildren, Troy Gingrich and Sean Gingrich; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Powell; grandson, Ryan Gingrich; two sisters; and eight brothers. Her parents were Jasper Newton Benton and Alice Gertrude Lockridge Benton.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with the Rev. Wes Morehead officiating. Private burial will be in Woodville Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at the funeral home.
