BROOKPORT, Ill. -- Elsie Irene Goddard, 83, of Brookport died at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Massac Memorial Hospital.

She worked in retail for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Cobb of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Carl Cobb of Kansas City, Missouri, and Gary Cobb of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Virginia Shugars of Olive Branch, Mississippi; four brothers, Jimmy Goddard of Metropolis, Lowell Goddard of Lancaster, Ohio, Phillip Goddard of Avondale, Arizona, and Joe Dean Goddard of Lubbock, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Goddard and Edith Afton (Cagle) Taylor; and a brother.

Per her wishes there will be no services. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at aikinsfarmer-millerfh.com.
