William Smith Jr.

Staff report

MURRAY -- William Hal "Billy" Smith Jr., 79, of Murray died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Mr. Smith is survived by a son, Billy Dale Smith; a daughter, Bobbie Bryant of Louisville; a sister, Bettie Stoll of Paducah; two grandchildren, Josh Smith and Janae McCoy; two stepgrandchildren, Garrett Bryant and Landon Bryant; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in dead by his wife, Shirley Chilcutt Smith. His parents were William Hal Smith and Geneva Louise Brewer Smith.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Murray Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Jim Stahler and Kerry Lambert officiating.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Blalock-Coleman and York Funeral Home.
