GILBERTSVILLE -- Cathey L. Nichols, 54, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.

Born Thursday, April 12, 1962, in Murray, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin Boone and Louise (Knight) Boone Griggs of Gilbertsville, Kentucky. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Surviving are her mother; her daughter, Amanda Travis and husband Tony of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; grandson, Tucker Travis, also of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; stepbrothers, Stan Griggs of Calvert City, Kentucky, and Aubrey Griggs of Benton, Kentucky; sister, Patricia Ann Logan and husband Neal of Henderson, Kentucky; stepsisters, Tina Burns of Benton, Kentucky, and Wendy Griggs of Benton, Kentucky; and two nieces, Shannon O'Nan of Henderson, Kentucky, and Samantha Martin of Henderson, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her father; stepfather, Harold Wayne Griggs; and two brothers, Joseph Franklin Boone and Rollie Lee Boone.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home. Pastor Dale Greenwell and Brother Charlie Canup will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Lakeview Cemetery, Benton, Kentucky.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West Fifth, Benton, KY.
