Staff report

Cayce Brockwell of Fulton and Jeremy Grimmitt of Clinton have been named to the President's List for the spring 2017 semester at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg. To be eligible for the President's List, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 4.0, receive an A grade in UC Engage and be in good academic standing.

Taylor Young of Marshall County (Marshall County High School), Robert Bosh of McCracken County (St. Mary High School) and Matthew Broadbent of Trigg County (Heritage Christian Academy) were among 59 students representing 40 counties from across Kentucky recognized during The Gatton Academy's 10th graduation ceremony in Bowling Green.

The following local students were named to the Dean's List at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., for the spring 2017 semester: Brenna Adams of Paducah, Nicholas Alexander of Murray, Abdullah Alzahrani of Murray and Jordan Hein of Paducah. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade-point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Katherine English of Paducah has achieved a place on the University of Evansville (Ind.) Dean's List for academic achievements during the spring 2017 semester. English is majoring in neuroscience. To make the Dean's List, a student at UE must earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
