The Woman's Club of Paducah will host its 82nd annual art show and contest Saturday through May , in the Paducah City Hall rotunda.
The art show and contest are open to professional, non-professional and student artists.
Art must be entered Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon at City Hall. Judging will take place between 1-3 p.m., with the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. A reception follows at 3:15 p.m. with the judge available to give critiques to those interested.
Zbynek "ZB" Smetana, Ph.D., will serve as judge. He earned his doctorate from Rutgers University in New Jersey in 1997.
Smetana is chairman of the History of Art (Ancient Art to Baroque Art) in the Art Department, Murray State University. He holds undergraduate degrees from a woodworking college and a combined undergraduate degree in studio art and art history.
John McLaren, an artist from Murray, won "Best of Show" last year. This year he is the featured artist with his work around the fountain in City Hall's rotunda.
